April in Hilton Head tends to be quite busy, although it’s not as crowded as the summer months. With events such as spring break, Easter weekend (when it falls in April), and the week of the golf tournament, the number of visitors begins to rise. However, it is still often possible to find reasonably priced accommodation.
The RBC Heritage golf tournament is the big April event in Hilton Head, but there are usually various other events on offer, from spring concerts at Shelter Cove Harbour to Easter events and other spring celebrations, and a weekend art market at Honey Horn. At nearby Bluffton, you can enjoy the annual Taste of Bluffton food festival.
The weather in Hilton Head during April is generally pleasant, with warm temperatures and abundant sunshine, though there can still be some variability. Occasional brief rain showers are common.
By April, water activities and boat charters should be running as usual. Golf is a popular activity, as is biking, either on Hilton Head’s miles of bike paths or the beach. Family-friendly activities include mini golf, ziplining, kayak tours and dolphin watching.
Beyond Hilton Head itself, there are many more activities available in nearby Bluffton, Beaufort, and St Helena and Hunting Islands. Savannah, about an hour away, also makes for a great day trip, with many things to see and do.
