Savannah in April brings much of the best the city has to offer, with sunny weather, events aplenty, and a chance of enjoying the beautiful and abundant azaleas, the blooming season for which can fall anywhere from late February through the first weeks of April.
April events in Savannah typically include the very popular Sidewalk Arts Festival at Forsyth Park, the last days of the Savannah Music Festival, and the family-friendly Earth Day Festival usually held in Daffin Park.
Another spring highlight often falling in April is the Garden Club of Savannah’s North of Gaston Street Tour of Hidden Gardens, along with the weekly Forsyth Farmers Market and various special events at local attractions.
Weather-wise, this might be the best month to visit Savannah. April is more predictably warm than March, with average highs in the upper 70s (although as always in Savannah, rain is a possibility).
