Savannah In May

Spanish moss hanging in front of a row of historic townhouses in Savannah, GA.

By May, Savannah is getting very warm, with average highs in the mid 80s. If you prefer cooler weather for sightseeing, travel in the earlier months of spring, or wait until the fall.

Memorial Day weekend is especially busy in both Savannah and Tybee Island, and crowds are common. Families flock to the beach over this weekend, so set out early if you want to beat the traffic out to Tybee.
