Savannah is an ideal running location, with good weather for most of the year and a flat, scenic landscape of riverside marshes, tree-shaded roads and historic architecture.
Savannah’s main running event is the annual Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon in November, with another marathon held on nearby Skidaway Island in spring, and several half marathons too.
Frequent shorter 5K and 10K races are available to suit a variety of interests, with costumes-optional fun runs, charity fundraisers, pet-friendly races and more in all the environments Savannah and its vicinity has to offer, including barrier island races at Tybee Island, scenic state parks, quiet neighborhoods and Savannah’s famous Historic District.
