Savannah In February

February in Savannah tends to be quieter than the spring months. While the weather can be unpredictable, it’s a great time to visit if you want to avoid the spring crowds.

The city’s winter-flowering camellias serve as a prelude to the more profuse blossomings of spring, with the chance of a few azaleas too in sunnier spots toward the end of the month. February weather in Savannah can be warm and sunny, but it is best to plan for cooler days: average highs are in the 60s.

Together with the other winter months, accommodation bargains can sometimes be found in February, excepting the days around the 14th. Savannah is frequently voted one of the most romantic cities in the US, and is a popular Valentine’s Day destination.

February is also Black History Month, and an ideal time to explore Savannah’s African-American heritage attractions, such as the Pin Point Heritage Museum, Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, or historic First African Baptist Church; or, to take an African-American history tour of the city.
