Beaufort In February

Beaufort in February makes for a great short vacation, or day trip from nearby Savannah or Hilton Head. Attractions, tours and restaurants are all typically open year-round, and there is plenty to see and do in Beaufort and its vicinity.

Weather in Beaufort in February is variable. South Carolina typically enjoys mild winters, and daily highs at this time of year could be anything from barely above freezing up to warm, sunny days in the 70s (or very occasionally, even higher).

Mornings and evenings can be quite cool, but it often warms up a lot toward the end of morning and into the afternoon, so pack layers and be prepared to put them on and remove them again as required!

Beaufort events in February are less abundant than in the spring through fall months. The highlight is the Beaufort International Film Festival, but there is also a weekly farmers market and occasional additional fundraising and other events.

Other things to do in Beaufort in February will depend on the weather. Sunny days will generally be perfect for sightseeing downtown and on nearby islands, and will perhaps even be warm enough for a boat or kayak tour on the river, or a fishing trip. Hiking is another option, with local sites including beautiful Hunting Island State Park, Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, or Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge.

On cooler or rainy days, there are several museums and historic houses in downtown Beaufort itself (plus shopping, art galleries, dining and so on), and there is also Savannah not far away, which offers a wide range of indoor attractions and other things to do that don’t depend upon the weather.
