Hilton Head Weather In March

Hilton Head weather in March can still be somewhat unpredictable, but much less so than the winter months. Average daily high temperatures are a spring-like 69°F (21°C), although there can be some degree of variability from day to day and from year to year.

Warm days are usually in the 70s or even the 80s this month, and although it won’t usually be sunbathing-and-swimming beach weather just yet (some visitors from colder climates do find it warm enough), many of Hilton Head’s water-based activities can still be enjoyable at this time of year, such as kayaking, paddle boarding, or dolphin tours, along with other outdoors activities such as golfing, hiking, biking, and so on.

On the other hand, it is possible to have many days of cool, cloudy weather in Hilton Head in March. Rain, too is always a possibility in South Carolina’s humid subtropical climate.

In the event of less clement weather, the nearby cities of Savannah, Beaufort and Bluffton have a wide range of indoor attractions, with a chance of seeing Savannah’s beautiful spring displays of azaleas toward the end of the month.
