Daufuskie Island Tours

Daufuskie Island, lying just across Calibogue Sound from Hilton Head, is known for its rich Gullah culture and beautiful environment. The island is accessible only by boat as it has no road bridge, and is home to a small community of year-round residents and seasonal vacationers.

A handful of tours of Daufuskie are available, exploring the island’s history and culture and the wildlife and ecosystems of the surrounding marshes.

Golf cart tours (the primary mode of transportation on Daufuskie) provide a way to sightsee and hear about the island’s history and nature. For something more active, kayak and paddleboard tours of the waterways around the island are occasionally also available.

Several of Daufuskie’s tours are also available through third-party tour companies, who provide a package including the tour itself and boat transportation to the island.
