River Street Bars With Late Night Opening

Bar scene with two glasses of beer and a burger.

River Street bars are a popular mainstay of the tourist experience in Savannah, with a wide selection of bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs along the riverfront and its near vicinity offering late-night opening. Many places stay open past 12am at the weekend, and some establishments do not close until as late as 3am.

The bars below are categorised according to their opening hours on Friday and Saturday nights, and may close earlier on other days of the week.

If you don’t plan on staying out late, the options for where to get a drink around River Street open out considerably. For details of restaurants and bars in the area closing before 12am, including their happy hours and whether any live music is offered, please see the River Street restaurants page.

Please take care on the riverfront’s cobbles and staircases after having a drink, especially if wearing high-heeled shoes! An elevator that avoids having to get to and from River Street via cobbled ramps or steep, old staircases is located behind City Hall.
