Tybee Island in June is typically busy, and it stays that way throughout the summer season. The weather is hot and humid, though not as extremely so as in July and August.
Tybee Island is popular with families during the summer months, and it is best to make accommodation reservations well in advance, especially for the more desirable properties. Don’t expect to find any bargains at this time of year!
Visit mid-week if possible if you want to avoid the biggest crowds and the worst of the traffic on the single road out to Tybee. If you are making a weekend day trip, set out early for the best chance of finding a convenient parking space and a good spot on the beach.
June isn’t a big month for events in Tybee Island, but there is a weekly farmers market at the lighthouse and various local musical and performances are typically also scheduled.
Things to do in Tybee Island in June center mostly around the beach, but besides sunbathing and swimming and other beach activities you can also take a kayak tour, try out paddle boarding, take a dolphin tour or make an excursion to undeveloped Little Tybee Island or Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge.
