Georgia in February is quieter than during the peak tourist season of spring through fall. Weather this month is unpredictable, and although there can be warm and sunny weather for much of the month, it could equally be cold and gray.
Smaller communities in Georgia often hold off most of their biggest festivals until the warmer months: many of this month’s events are in either Atlanta or Savannah.
February events in Georgia include the Georgia National Rodeo, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and the Savannah Book Festival. Other Georgia festivals in February are the Black History Festival in Savannah, a popular Mardi Gras celebration held in coastal St Marys or Kingsland, and Athens Wine Weekend.
The state-wide Super Museum Sunday, usually on the first or second Sunday of February (this year moved to May on account of the pandemic), is another popular event, offering free admission to many Georgia heritage and nature sites.
