St Simons Island offers a wealth of birdlife and sealife (including dolphins) and beautiful and varied scenery, from salt marshes, creeks and rivers on the landward side of the island, to beach, dune, forest and ocean views on its seaward side.
A boat tour is an ideal way to get closer up to the area’s abundant wildlife, and a relaxing way to enjoy the lowcountry scenery, with some tours focused on seeing dolphins or birds, others visiting the more out-of-the-way barrier islands in the Golden Isles area, and some timed to coincide with the sunset.
Most of St Simons Island’s boat tours are intended for groups, whether on small 6-person vessels or larger boats able to accommodate several dozen. A few public tours are also available, however, priced on a per-person basis.
