Local tour companies, some based on Jekyll Island and others elsewhere in the Golden Isles, offer a range of guided tours that can introduce you to aspects of the island’s history, wildlife and nature.
Trolley tours are the main offering providing an overview of Jekyll Island’s history, with a couple of alternative options either on foot or by carriage.
The majority of Jekyll’s tours are instead focused on the island’s natural environment, with walking tours exploring its ecology and wildlife, and kayak, paddleboard or boat tours venturing out into the nearby creeks and marshes, with the opportunity to see dolphins and local birdlife.
